**Elion Global** (EG) was founded by [[cyclopedia:Amias_Percy_Elion|Amias Percy Elion]] in 1883.  Elion started the company as a [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatmaking|millinery]] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  In the years since, the Elion's family has continued to grow the business with every [[cyclopedia:Chief Executive Officer|Chief Executive Officer]] and most of the [[cyclopedia:Board of Directors|Board of Directors]] being a descendant of Amias. Inside the company, the collective Elion family is referred to as the 'Founders'.
